Kevin Stefanski's Cleveland Browns suffered a 32-13 loss to the New England Patriots in Week 8 of the 2025 NFL season on Sunday. It was Cleveland's sixth defeat of the season, putting another dent in the team's hopes of making the playoffs.

Stefanski has also come under criticism for favoring Dillon Gabriel over Shedeur Sanders as the Browns' starting quarterback. When a fan on X pointed out that Stefanski has the same agent as Dan Lanning, Brent Venables, and Gus Malzahn, all of whom coached Gabriel at the collegiate level, it led to some conspiracies on social media.

"It makes sense now. If that's the case, the @Browns should fire Kevin for choosing favorism over getting the team victories," one tweeted.

"I mean bro cmon the league needs to step in here a blind man can see what is happening here like cmon this ain’t rocket science," another added. "Damn I knew sum was odd man free 12 man," a third commented.

Here are a few more reactions.

"Conspiracy? That's not allowed here sir. Turn around and put your hands behind your back," one wrote. "Wow. Makes crazy sense. It was obvious he never wanted to draft him but damn. This proves he borderline despises anything Sanders," another added. "Thats how corruption works. Once you start to dig benefit the surface you realize its just one big club and they probably dont want sheduer to play because he keeps most of his own money," a user tweeted.

On Monday, Stefanski was asked whether Sanders would get an opportunity to start after the Browns' BYE in Week 9. However, the Cleveland coach appeared to shut down the question.

"My focus is where we are right now," Stefanski said, "That's not my focus."

The Browns hired Kevin Stefanski in January 2020. He has led the team to the playoffs on two occasions.

However, after a dismal 3-14 record last season and a poor start to this season, the pressure has been mounting on Stefanski.
