Is Kyler Murray playing today? Latest injury update on Cardinals QB for Week 6

The Arizona Cardinals have a concern at quarterback ahead of the Week 6 game versus the Indianapolis Colts, as Kyler Murray is questionable.

Murray was a new addition to the injury report this week due to a foot injury suffered in Week 5 that briefly forced his exit from the game.

Murray did not practice over the first two days of the week before turning in a limited session on Friday and garnering a questionable tag, which gives him a chance to play.

With Murray's status for Week 6 up in the air, we received an update on his status on Saturday night from multiple outlets.

Is Kyler Murray playing today?

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter and Jeremy Fowler, Murray is not expected to play in Week 6.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport adds that Murray is dealing with a "mid-foot sprain" that is considered "a version of a Lisfranc injury" and he might be out next week, too.

"Kyler Murray’s injury, a mid-foot sprain, is a version of a Lisfranc injury, source said," Rapoport said on Saturday night. "There is a possibility Murray is out more than this week, as pushing it can cause an aggravation."

Taking the reins for the Cardinals is Jacoby Brissett, who has gotten into two games this season but has thrown just one pass. Kedon Slovis, who was promoted from the practice squad on Saturday, will back him up.

Brissett is 19-34 in his career as a starter and is a solid backup, but it goes without saying that he'll be a downgrade for Arizona's offense, which is already missing a pair of running backs in James Conner (ankle) and Trey Benson (knee).

Arizona is also trying to rebound after a horrific loss to the Tennessee Titans, but that's going to be much more difficult now without Murray and against a Colts squad that has one of the best offenses in the NFL through five weeks.
