Is Isiah Pacheco playing in Week 2 vs. Bills? Final status for Lions RB

After pulling out a tough overtime victory over the New Orleans Saints in the first week of the season, the Detroit Lions will look to continue their winning ways against the Buffalo Bills on Thursday night in Week 2. 

Unfortunately for the Lions, they'll continue to be without a key contributor on the offensive side of the ball. 

Isiah Pacheco ruled out vs. Bills, expected to miss 'significant time' after back surgery

After missing the first game of the season, running back Isiah Pacheco has been ruled out of the game against Buffalo.

Pacheco recently underwent back surgery to remove a loose body that was pressing on a nerve in his back and he's expected to miss a significant amount of time as a result. 

"It's going to be a while," Lions head coach Dan Campbell said of Pacheco's return timeline. "I really can't. It'll be a significant amount of time though."

Even prior to the back surgery, Pacheco was already slated to miss the first four games of the season after being placed on the injured reserve list at the beginning of the month due to an MCL sprain. Now, Pacheco has multiple injuries to recover from. 

Pacheco signed a one-year deal with the Lions in free agency back in March. At this point, it remains to be seen when he'll make his debut for the team.
