As the World Cup in the United States kicks off on Friday with the United States Men's National Team's opening match against Paraguay, President Donald Trump will be on many people's minds.

Trump has been no stranger to attending big sporting events while in office, as he's been to the Super Bowl, World Series, Ryder Cup, U.S. Open and NBA Finals in that span. Therefore, Trump will probably want to take advantage of the World Cup being in the United States for the first time since 1994.

However, Trump is a busy man right now with a lot of political issues to address along with preparing for the 250th Independence Day in United States history. With the World Cup only beginning, Trump has plenty of time between now and the end to catch a game.

Here's the latest on whether Trump is at the United States vs. Paraguay game.

Is Donald Trump at the World Cup?

Trump is not expected to be at the World Cup opening ceremony in the United States ahead of the USMNT's first match vs. Paraguay.

Trump attended Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Monday night and will host a UFC event on the White House Lawn this Sunday.

With the World Cup lasting through the middle of July, Trump will have five weeks to attend a game before it's over. The president will probably attend at least the World Cup final match, which will take place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on July 19.

Why isn't Donald Trump at the World Cup?

Trump will not be traveling across the country to attend the USMNT's opening-round matchup against Paraguay due to the long travel and the busy schedule. Paraguay president Santiago Pena will be in attendance as his team battles the United States, while Secretary of State Marco Rubio will represent the United States at the event.

"The FIFA World Cup is a landmark moment for the Trump Administration, showcasing American leadership and hospitality to a global audience as the nation celebrates its 250th anniversary," the State Department said in a statement. "On the margins of the match, Secretary Rubio will meet with Paraguayan President Santiago Peña to advance the U.S.-Paraguay strategic partnership spanning regional security, trade and investment, and emerging technology."
