Derik Queen has been called "Baby Jokic," a lofty comparison for the Maryland basketball star and likely NBA Draft lottery pick.

But it's the "Who?" that called Queen that nickname that is just as interesting.

He earned that moniker from Angel Reese, the former Maryland and LSU college basketball sensation and current Chicago Sky forward in the WNBA.

Queen and Reese have plenty in common, to be sure.

No, Derik Queen is not related to Angel Reese.

Reese is a fan of Maryland as both her original college and because her brother, Julian, played for the Terps.

Julian and Queen were teammates this past season, a fun campaign that included an incredible buzzer beater in the NCAA Tournament by Queen.

Will Derik Queen be good in the NBA?

Shooting will be the swing skill for Queen.

He earned the "Baby Jokic" nickname from Reese because he's got tons of skill, including as a passer.

But if Queen doesn't extend his shooting range, it limits his upside.

His ceiling as a non-shooter is Rockets center Alperen Sengun, which would be a great outcome, but that's if he hits his peak.

If Queen can add shooting, he could be a (very) lite version of Jokic.

He's certainly talented enough to go in the lottery and make a run at a solid NBA career.
