Is Cooper Flagg playing tonight vs. Pacers? Final status for Mavericks star

The Dallas Mavericks will try to snap a 10-game winless streak against the Indiana Pacers on Sunday night.

Unfortunately for the Mavericks – and the viewing audience – they will continue to be without prized rookie Cooper Flagg for the game against Indiana.

Cooper Flagg ruled out vs. Pacers with left midfoot sprain

Flagg has been officially ruled out of the game due to a lingering left midfoot sprain.

It will be the third consecutive regular season game missed by Flagg due to the injury, which also led to him missing the Rising Stars Challenge at All-Star weekend. Flagg's last in-game action came against the Phoenix Suns on Feb. 10.

On the season, the top overall pick from the 2025 NBA Draft has appeared in 49 games for the Mavericks and posted averages of 20.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.2 steals per performance.

Despite his recent absences, Flagg remains the favorite to win the NBA's Rookie of the Year award this season. If Flagg does win the award, he will be just the third Mavericks player ever to do so, along with his head coach Jason Kidd and Luka Doncic.

The matchup between Dallas and Indiana will be the second and final meeting of the teams on the season. The Mavericks previously pulled out a 107-105 victory over the Pacers in October. Flagg had 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists in that game.
