Is Coby White playing for undefeated Bulls vs. Knicks in NBA Cup matchup tonight?

The Chicago Bulls have become one of the most unexpected stories in the NBA to begin the 2025-26 season.

A squad comprised of a mix of young faces such as Matas Buzelis and Josh Giddey and veteran impact players like Nikola Vučević has taken the league by storm and gotten out to an undefeated 4-0 start heading into their first NBA Cup game against the New York Knicks.

Unfortunately for the rising franchise, the Bulls will likely be missing their versatile on-ball scoring threat Coby White for the highly-anticipated contest against one of the titans of the Eastern Conference from one season ago.

According to CBS Sports, White is set to miss the contest against New York due to a calf injury, one that will keep him out of action until at least Nov. 4.

White's absence for such a meaningful game certainly is a massive loss for Chicago, as the 25-year-old shooting guard averaged a career-high 20.4 points to go along with 4.5 assists on a 55.0% effective field goal percentage in 74 appearances in 2024-25.

The methodical scorer with a smooth handle has yet to suit up for the Bulls in 2025-26, but his eventual return the lineup will be appreciated, as he fits the mold of a fantastic complementary scorer on a competitive team.

For the immediate future, the Bulls will have to continue to rely on their rising star and second-year forward Matas Buzelis to act as one of their most consistent offensive options outside of the floor-spacing big man Vučević.

Without White, Chicago still ranks at No. 11 in the NBA with 119.8-point average as a unit.
