There is something odd unfolding in the first half of the Week 1 game between the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams and it concerns running back Christian McCaffrey.
We're through a handful of 49ers drives and late in the second quarter, yet McCaffrey has just two carries thus far.
What's even more odd is his backup, Kaelon Black, has five more carries than San Francisco's RB1.
Is Christian McCaffrey hurt?
As far as we can tell, McCaffrey is not dealing with anything, so we don't have a good explanation as to why he isn't getting more work.
He was not on the team's injury report during the week, either.
We'll continue monitoring things moving forward.
