Is Cale Makar playing tonight? Latest injury news on Avalanche star isn't good

1 hour ago 3

The Colorado Avalanche are already behind.

They lost Game 1 of the Western Conference Final to the Vegas Golden Knights, and one of the issues was that Cale Makar was injured and not playing.

The hope for the Avs would certainly be that they can get Makar back on the ice. They need their superstar defenseman to stabilize things and to make plays from the blue line.

With Game 2 on Friday, though, the news isn't good.

Is Cale Makar playing tonight?

No, Makar won't be playing in Game 2.

The Avalanche announced earlier Friday that Makar remains out.

Cale Makar is also out Game 2 of the Western Conference Final.

Before Game 1, the Avs called Makar "day-to-day." Apparently, not this day.

So far in this postseason, Makar has four goals and an assist through nine games.

He played a regular workload in the clinching game of the last round against the Minnesota Wild.

Now, though, there's some classic hockey mystery around this injury. At the moment, the Avalanche have to find a way to bounce back without Makar on the ice.
