Caitlin Clark's sophomore season hasn't quite gone to plan thus far.
The Fever phenom has been limited to a little more than a dozen games thus far, felled by injuries to both her left and right groins. The latter issue has been especially damaging for Clark, who has had to watch on from the sidelines in each of Indiana's last 10 games.
The Fever could certainly use her contributions. While Clark's averages and shooting splits have largely dipped across the board, she remains one of the league's most gifted scorers and playmakers. Indiana opened up a five-game winning streak in Clark's absence. But White's squad has dropped two straight, the last of which was a 35-point defeat the Mercury. With a matchup against the lowly Sky on the horizon on Friday, Clark's status comes into focus.
With that, here's what you need to know about Clark's injury recovery and the prospect of her facing off against the Sky on Friday night.

Is Caitlin Clark playing today?
Clark will not play in Indiana's joust with the Sky, the franchise announced on Saturday. She's still recovering from the right groin injury she suffered nearly a month ago.
Clark hasn't taken the floor since July 15, when she appeared to tweak her right groin against the Sun. She has missed 10 straight games as a result of the ailment. She missed an additional seven matches earlier in the year, most of which came as a result of a left groin issue.
It's unclear when Clark could be back on the floor. But based on comments head coach Stephanie White made on Aug. 3, it appears she could see an even longer spell on the sideline as the Fever attempt to reintegrate her into basketball activities slowly.
Steph White on CC’s recovery: “I know she wants to be out on the floor and we want her out on the floor, but making sure that she’s ready is the most important thing. I still don’t know how far we are, we’re going to take it one step at a time, one day at a time.”

What is Caitlin Clark's injury?
Clark suffered a right groin injury late in the fourth quarter of the Fever's July 15 clash with Connecticut. She appeared to pull her groin while attempting to change directions.
She looked in clear pain as she made her way to the bench and was moved to tears before draping her head in a towel.

Clark missed out on the three-point challenge and All-Star Game as a result of the malady. On July 24, the Fever confirmed that there were no additional injuries beyond Clark's initial diagnosis.
On Aug. 4, Indiana head coach Stephanie White revealed that Clark's status is "day-to-day."

"We're putting no timetable on it, going through the rehab process and then we want to reintegrate her from a strength and conditioning standpoint and then get her back to basketball activity," White said on NBA Today. "We're taking it one day at a time, really slow-rolling it, slow-playing it this time. She tried to come back a couple times and just had setbacks along the way.
"The most important thing for us is Caitlin's long-term health, getting her back to 100 percent before we put her back on the floor."
Leading up to the Fever's duel with Chicago, Clark has missed 16 of a possible 29 games.
