Injuries have taken a toll on the Indiana Fever throughout the 2025 season.
In many ways, the injury misfortune of All-Star guard Caitlin Clark has defined the WNBA season, with the former No. 1 overall pick missing the majority of the season with various ailments. Compounding that issue are injuries to members of Indiana's supporting cast, with the latest injuries clouding the team's prospects for the remainder of the regular season and beyond.
On Friday, Aug. 8, the Fever announced that guards Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald suffered season-ending injuries in a loss to the Phoenix Mercury one day prior. With no Clark, Colson, or McDonald, the Fever effectively have no more healthy point guards on their roster.

Fever injury updates
Caitlin Clark
Clark has been out since Tuesday, July 15, with a groin injury.
With under a minute remaining in a win over the Connecticut Sun, Clark appeared to tweak her groin while throwing a backdoor pass. She came up in pain and held back tears with a towel over her head for the game's final moments.
On Sunday, Aug. 3, Fever head coach Stephanie White told ESPN's Holly Rowe that, "[Clark] has started some full-court running — full-speed running, the last four or five days. Still not doing full basketball activities, but there has been some progress made recently."
Days later, White indicated that there was no known date for Clark's return and that the team wants to be as cautious as possible with her return.
Sydney Colson
Colson is out for the remainder of the 2025 WNBA season with a torn left ACL.
The veteran point guard suffered the injury in a collision during Indiana's loss to Phoenix on Thursday, Aug. 7. Colson joined the Fever as a free agent during the 2024 offseason and was an invaluable locker room presence due to the championship pedigree she brought with her from Las Vegas.
Colson started in six of the 30 games she appeared in this season.

Aari McDonald
McDonald is out for the remainder of the 2025 WNBA season with a broken bone in her right foot.
She was the third pick in the 2021 WNBA Draft and landed in Indiana this season after injuries decimated the roster early on. After some number crunching on the roster, the Fever added McDonald for the remainder of the season, and she has played an invaluable role.
Through 20 games (13 starts), McDonald averaged 9.8 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game, including a career-best 27 points in a July 30 win over the Mercury.
