Is Buffalo Bills’ Dawson Knox a reliable fantasy start vs. Chiefs?

Buffalo Bills tight end Dawson Knox has logged modest numbers in 2024, but Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs could be a breakout for him.

Knox will get the benefit of being the Bills’ No. 1 tight end against the Chiefs, as second-year player Dalton Kincaid is out with a knee injury. Kincaid has seen a far higher target share than Knox, bringing in 356 yards and two touchdowns in 10 games.

Knox has recorded just 124 yards and one touchdown, seeing Kincaid take on a much larger role in his second year.

Bills quarterback Josh Allen is elite at finding different players down the field. Knox logged back-to-back 500-plus-yard seasons in 2021 and 2022.

Keon Coleman is also out for Sunday’s game, while Amari Cooper is questionable. This means Knox — and Khalil Shakir, Mack Hollins and others — will get more targets.

The Chiefs have a stingy defense, led by defensive tackle Chris Jones. But they’ve struggled defending tight ends, allowing the second-most fantasy points (13.1) to opposing tight ends.

Knox doesn’t enter Sunday with the same projections as Mark Andrews, Brock Bowers or Sam LaPorta. But he should be a safe play for an offense dealing with injuries.
