Iowa State star forward reportedly declaring for 2026 NBA Draft

With only four teams remaining in the 2026 NCAA Tournament,  players from different programs are beginning to make offseason moves.

Iowa State’s star forward is among those players, as he reportedly declared for the 2026 NBA Draft after a stellar junior campaign with the Cyclones.

"I probably, definitely, (will) test the draft," Milan Momcilovic told Cyclone Alert’s Alec Busse in a conversation at the Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City. "Just because I think I've had a good year and shot the ball very well, that I can."

Technically, Momcilovic made his NBA draft decision a few weeks ago. However, with the Cyclones getting obliterated by Tennessee in the Sweet 16 last Thursday, it makes sense why Busse’s report regarding Momcilovic’s future emerged in late March.

Although Momcilovic isn’t a great shot creator, ball handler, or defender, he’s among the most gifted/productive three-point snipers in the country.

The Pewaukee, Wisconsin native’s quick, hitch-free release enables him to get perimeter jumpers off swiftly and capitalize on his catch-and-shoot opportunities.

Momcilovic averaged 16.9 points per game while shooting 50.6% from the field and 48.7% from beyond the arc. Considering the NBA prioritizes above-average three-point shooting, it goes without saying that Momcilovic is making the right decision by testing the waters.

It’ll be interesting to see if the proven sharpshooter seriously entertains the idea of returning to school for his fourth and final collegiate season.
