It is always fun to provide high school athletes with some "ink" when they achieve something impressive. Right now, that means admiring the world of high school baseball in Iowa.
Here are some of the more noteworthy performances that have happened in Iowa high school baseball. Side note, all stats are from those inputted into Bound by June 21, 2025:
Anthony Harrington, Midland
Harrington struck out a state-best 20 batters in a 6-1 win for his team over Calamus-Wheatland. The junior allowed just one hit and three walks, throwing 102 pitches and facing 22 batters.
Cooper Wierson, Collins-Maxwell
Wierson was on point in a tough 2-1 loss to Riceville, striking out 19 over eight-plus innings with just five hits allowed and one earned run.
Cael Wishman, Baxter
Wishman led his team to a one-sided win over Rockford, 12-0, striking out 16 of the 20 batters he faced on 99 pitches with three hit surrendered.
Blake Neuroth, East Marshall
Neuroth racked up 15 strikeouts on 91 pitches, scattering three hits without allowing a run to be scored and just one walk in a 2-0 win vs. GMG.
Gage VanAusdall, Central Lee
Hitting out of the No. 7 spot in the lineup, the sophomore hit two home runs, driving in seven while scoring three times after reaching on a walk.
Jarel Madison, West Central Valley
Madison had a game in an 18-8 victory, recording three hits with six RBI.
Carson Lage, North Scott
In five at-bats, Lage recorded five hits, including two doubles, with three RBI and three runs scored.
Tyler Netsch, Okoboji
Netsch was a perfect 5-for-5, driving in three while scoring three more times.
Ean Eldred, Gilbert
The junior put out a 5-for-5 performance, plating three runs while scoring twice with a homer.
