The Seahawks, who trailed by 16 points at one time in the fourth quarter, tied the game at 30-30 after a controversial call by the referee. Fans lashed out at the controversial decision on social media.

The controversial sequence unfolded when Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold's pass to running back Zach Charbonnet on the two-point try was broken up by Rams defensive end Jared Verse. However, the ball dribbled into the end zone, where Charbonnet picked it up.

The referees initially ruled the pass from Darnold was incomplete. However, after a video review, the ruling was overturned, claiming that Darnold's pass for Charbonnet traveled backward and the loose ball was considered a fumble, deeming it a successful conversion.
