Jaw-dropping footage showed the moment a massive explosion blew apart a Queens home Thursday morning — knocking responding NYPD cops off their feet.
Officers were at the door of a South Ozone Park home for a domestic dispute predawn when the
Hollywood-style explosion ignited and lit up the sky, according to video released by the NYPD.
Cops helped each other up and into the street in the aftermath, but quickly rushed back toward the residence to help survivors attempting to escape the carnage.
“They were hurt. They had just been thrown to the ground by an explosion,” NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said on X.
“And in that moment, with no clear sense of what else they might be walking into, they made the decision to keep moving forward.”
The maniac believed to have set off the explosion, Anrup Parasram, allegedly barged into the home where his wife, daughter and grandchildren, according to cops and sources.
Cops believe he used an accelerate to light himself on fire, setting off the blast.
Parasram’s body was later found in the rubble, sources said.
