At 2-6, the Cleveland Browns are likely open for business ahead of the trade deadline.
They have several veterans in the final year of their contracts, all of which could prove valuable to contending teams around the NFL.
One former Pro Bowler, tight end David Njoku, is one of those veterans, and Browns insider Mary Kay Cabot recently revealed Cleveland's stance on trading the former Miami standout.
Mary Kay Cabot reveals Browns' stance on trading David Njoku
In an appearance on 92.3 The Fan, Cabot said the Browns aren't looking to trade Njoku, but would be willing to move him for the right price.
"The plan heading into the trade deadline is not to trade away David Njoku. That doesn't mean it won't happen, they are not seeking to trade David Njoku," Cabot told Ken Carman and Anthony Lima.
"Now if someone comes calling with an offer that they cannot refuse, the same way it happened with Joe Flacco and with Greg Newsome, they are listening to all offers. They're working the phones, they're talking to everybody. That's what happens this time of year."
If the Browns were to trade Njoku, they would have their replacement waiting in the wings.
Cleveland selected Bowling Green tight end Harold Fannin in the third round of this past year's draft, 67th overall.
So far this season, the rookie has impressed, racking up 38 receptions for 352 yards and two touchdowns.
If the Browns were to move on from Njoku, it's safe to say the tight end position would be in safe hands.
