Indiana Pacers vs Phoenix Suns preview

Last season, the Pacers won both meetings against the Suns and went on to reach the NBA Finals behind Tyrese Haliburton’s leadership, while Phoenix missed the postseason entirely.

This year, things have taken a different turn for both sides — the Pacers are without Haliburton, who is sidelined with an Achilles injury, and the Suns have dismantled their former “Big Three,” parting ways with Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal while keeping Devin Booker as their cornerstone.

Without a steady backcourt presence, the Pacers have endured one loss after another, holding the league’s second-worst offensive rating and third-worst net rating.

Despite attempting a league-high 95.8 field goals per game, Indiana is shooting just 40.2% from the floor — the lowest in the NBA — while ranking 28th in assists.

Meanwhile, the Suns boast one of the league’s most efficient offenses, ranking seventh in 3-point percentage (38.5%) and third in steals per game (10.2). Booker leads the charge with 28.4 points per game, but six other Suns are averaging double figures, showcasing a balanced offensive approach.

Phoenix has yet to release its injury report following Wednesday’s game, but the Pacers will remain without Haliburton, Obi Toppin, Benedict Mathurin, Kam Jones, Quenton Jackson, and Johnny Furphy.
