"I never gave up a hit to Shohei Ohtani" - Clayton Kershaw drops ultimate flex as he retires without ever allowing a hit to Dodgers unicorn

Los Angeles Dodgers icon Clayton Kershaw called time on his legendary career after claiming his third World Series ring with the franchise following their triumph against the Toronto Blue Jays in the Fall Classic.

Kershaw, a three-time Cy Young winner, racked up several accolades during his illustrious 18-year MLB career. However, the former NL MVP ranks his success against Dodgers teammate Shohei Ohtani higher than his other accolades.

The former Dodgers ace faced off against Ohtani during the Japanese superstar's tenure with the Los Angeles Angels. The three-time MVP failed to get a hit against Kershaw in 11 at-bats and was struck out four times.

Kershaw flexed his record against Ohtani on the Dan Patrick Show this week.

"Check the numbers, Dan. Check the numbers," Kershaw said. "I never gave up a hit to Shohei, and I will have that for the rest of my life."

However, the 11-time All-Star ace said he never brought up his record when Ohtani joined the Dodgers.

"I haven't told him yet. I didn't know how he would take it," Kershaw said. "Feels great. I'll take that all day."

Shohei Ohtani is a favorite for a second consecutive NL MVP award this season and a fourth overall. When Clayton Kershaw was asked about a potential pitching gameplan against one of the greatest hitters of all time, the Dodgers legend said:

"Guys asked me on our team. Obviously I would never say anything to anybody else. But I think you can't throw middle speed pitches. And unfortunately now that's all I throw is middle speed pitches, so I don't know if I would have done very well now. "The slider, changeup, mid 80s, upper 80s, I don't care how good it is, I don't feel confident throwing that stuff. You gotta throw really hard or throw soft, like a curveball."

Shohei Ohtani, who returned to the mound this season for the first time since joining the Dodgers, said he learnt a lot from Kershaw during his starts.
