One of the most hyped up names of WWE at one time, Gable Steveson, couldn't have a career in the company as good as fans expected. The star joined the company back in 2021 carrying major hype after his Olympic gold medal win and was introduced as a future main-event level prospect.

He made several big event appearances and was drafted to the red brand, but the transition to pro wrestling never clicked for the star. His only televised match on NXT failed to leave a strong impression on fans around the world, before which he was soon taken off television. After months of inactivity, WWE released Steveson in May 2024, quietly closing the door on a run that never found its footing.

Steveson addressed his failed run in the company in a recent appearance on the Joe Rogan podcast. The star revealed how great the short experience was for him and how he had an incredible time with Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, and Vince McMahon. However, considering he was trying to balance both WWE and college wrestling, things didn't work out for him, which led to him wanting to get out.

"Honestly I had a great experience. I have no no, nothing wrong with anybody there. Um TKO was great. Triple H Paul Levesque was great. Stephanie, Vince, everybody was great. Um I just had a competitive drive that I needed to get out. And so, you know, when you have that gap is there, you can't do both. And I was trying to bridge both. And I wasn't giving my 100% to the business. And if I'm not going to give 100% to the business, then you might as well ex me out because it's already over with. So, um, I just that's how that's practically how it happened," he stated [15.42 onwards]
