“I lost control” - Jaosuayai reflects on tough setback against Akif Guluzada

Muay Thai superstar and striking dynamo Jaosuayai Mor Krungthepthonburi of Thailand knows he didn’t put out his best in a recent loss to Akif Guluzada at ONE Fight Night 36 this past October. But he’s back and ready to prove that he’s learned from the experience.

Jaosuayai dropped a three-round unanimous decision in a spirited flyweight war. But after moving down to strawweight for his next fight, the Thai phenom wants to show that he’s got more than enough left in the tank to redeem himself.

Speaking to ONE Championship in a recent interview, Jaosuayai commented on his recent loss to Guluzada, and how he’s coming back from it.

The 24-year-old said:

“Personally, I think the game plan and style for the last fight with Akif was a mess. Although we had a good plan, we messed up in the first round when Akif countered my head-lowering punch with a jumping knee, which led to me being counted.”

Jaosuayai added:

“In that moment I was counted, I lost control. It was like my vision cut out, and I instantly blacked out. But with so many fans cheering for me, it gave me the determination to fight back and grit my teeth to get back up and continue the fight.”

Needless to say, fans can’t wait for Jaosuayai’s return to action, and they won’t have to wait long to see him back in the ring.
