The LSU Tigers fired Brian Kelly from his coaching role on Sunday, less than 24 hours after their 49-25 loss to No. 3 Texas A&M at Tiger Stadium. The Tigers have announced that Frank Wilson, LSU's associate head coach and running backs coach, will take over as the team's interim head coach.
While LSU is still on the lookout for a new permanent head coach, Ed Orgeron appears to have thrown his hat into the ring for the job.
“I’d love to,” Orgeron said on ESPN’s "Unsportsmanlike" when asked if he would consider returning to LSU. “Are you kidding me? I just gotta get in my truck, I’ll be there today!”•

LSU initially hired Orgeron in January 2015 as its defensive line coach. When the Tigers fired head coach Les Miles in September 2016, Orgeron was named as the interim head coach.
Two months later, LSU removed the "interim" tag from Orgeron's coaching title and named him the full-time head coach.
Orgeron served as LSU's coach until the end of the 2021 season. He compiled a 51-20 record with the Tigers.
Orgeron led LSU to an unbeaten 15-0 run in 2019 to lead the program to the national championship.
Notably, the Tigers hired Kelly to replace Orgeron.
