Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark on Wednesday made an appearance on the Kelce brothers’ show “New Heights” where she leaked major news on her upcoming Nike signature shoes. She revealed the process involved in making her new shoe, revealing the shoe's colorway.
“I think probably the most challenging part of it is like you want it to be unique, but at the same time, like I have to be comfortable wearing it. So I think we kind of like you kind of take what you know, you're comfortable in. “Like obviously I play in a lot of Kobe's, but I don't at the same time, I don't want it to be a Kobe. I want to be something very unique to me and a little bit different. But more so I think I'm more excited about like making certain colorways or collabing with certain brands or whatever it is. I know I definitely got the Chiefs colorway on the way or PE.”Right from college, Nike has touted a Caitlin Clark signature shoe. Although Nike has already released and continues to restock player-exclusive (PE) shoes tied to her. She has worn multiple Kobe Protro Player Editions (like Kobe 6 colorways) on court.
She made her debut on the “New Heights” show in January after her rookie season. In that episode, the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year talked about her life-changing rookie season in the WNBA, her lifelong fandom of the Kansas City Chiefs and broader sports topics like the NBA ratings debates.
The former Iowa star has stayed connected with the New Heights fanbase even outside of her interviews. Ahead of a major Taylor Swift appearance on the show earlier in 2025, Caitlin Clark joked about whether YouTube would crash due to the massive viewership.
Caitlin Clark reveals a tussle between shoe brands to sign her
Caitlin Clark on the much-anticipated New Year’s episode of the “New Heights” podcast revealed the tussle to get her signed by a sports wear brand. She shared that the tussle began while she was at Iowa, between Nike, Adidas and Under Armour.
“The process started at the end of my senior year when I was at lowa because I was deciding what shoe company I was going to go with." "And I talked to Nike, Adidas and Under Armour and they all offered me a signature shoe. Obviously some faster than others and you know, everybody knows Nike makes the best product. It just kind of takes a little bit longer.”Clark’s time at Iowa saw her make and break multiple records. She was the NCAA Division I all-time leading scorer (men’s and women’s) with 3,951 points.
