Philadelphia Eagles safety Reed Blankenship and his wife Elsa announced life changing news earlier this week. The couple is expecting their first child, a baby girl, in the coming months.
On Thursday's episode of his "Exciting Mics" podcast that he hosts with Philadelphia Eagles teammate, Cooper DeJean, he opened up about the experience. Blankenship said that he was 'juiced' about welcoming their first child and the idea of being a girl dad.
"I've know for weeks but, I finally get to let it out" Blankenship said on the "Exciting Mics" podcast.•

The Philadelphia Eagles safety also held up a hat that he is ready to wear that said "Girl Dad" across the front.
Blankenship also told DeJean that his new title is "Uncle Coop" once his daughter arrives. The two defensive backs have been very close since DeJean was drafted by the Eagles in 2024.
Reed Blankenship and his wife, Elsa, posted a photo on Instagram of them in front of a Christmas tree holding sonogram photos. In another photo, a white heart-shaped cake had "Oh Baby" written in frosting along with another sonogram photo.

The year 2025 has been a monumental one for Eagles safety Reed Blankenship. He and the Philadelphia Eagles shutdown Patrick Mahomes at the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, halting their chances at a three-peat. Blankenship, who went undrafted in 2022, can now call himself a Super Bowl champion.
In July, the Eagles held their Super Bowl ring ceremony in the "City of Brotherly Love" which comes just weeks after another big life milestone. The safety married his now-wife Elsa in Franklin, Tennessee just two weeks before getting his Super Bowl ring.
