Reigning and undisputed ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion ‘The General’ Jonathan Haggerty of the United Kingdom has nothing but praise for six-foot-four Algerian-Thai phenom Nabil Anane.
Haggerty was originally scheduled to challenge Anane for the latter’s ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title at the recent ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri card in Tokyo, Japan last month. That was until ‘The General’ had to pull out at the last minute due to an injury he suffered in training.
Anane went on to beat Japanese phenom Hiromi Wajima in his featherweight kickboxing debut. Haggerty watched from home, and he commented on Anane’s development as a fighter.
Speaking to veteran MMA reporter Nick Atkin in a recent interview, Haggerty praised Anane.

‘The General’ said:
“I think yeah, he's just come on leaps and bounds, so to speak. Yeah, 100 percent. I've seen it. Obviously, I feel like he's grown into his body a lot better. He's grown into the weight category. Yeah, he's definitely improved, hence why he's been beating all these top fighters. So yeah, we're ready to get on top.”Check out the interview below:
No one has been able to crack the Nabil Anane code in ONE Championship yet. Needless to say, Haggerty hopes to be the one to do it.

Nabil Anane calls out Jonathan Haggerty for kickboxing title fight next: “He missed his chance”
After Nabil Anane’s victory over Hiromi Wajima at ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri, the Algerian-Thai phenom called out Jonathan Haggerty anew, this time for the kickboxing gold.
He told Mitch Chilson:
“Jonathan Haggerty. Last time you got a chance to fight me in Muay Thai, would have been this day, but you weren't able [to]. I understand everything. Sometimes you can get injured. You pulled out. You had a chance, but you missed it. Maybe next time, boss Chatri Sityodtong, I want my chance to [fight] against Jonathan Haggerty. He missed his chance. If I got a chance, I won't miss mine. Of course, for the kickboxing belt.”Why did you not like this content?
