Manchester United legend Andy Cole claimed that Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland is one of the best goalscorers in Premier League history. The Englishman asserted that he hasn't 'seen anyone better' in terms of goal-poaching ability than the Norwegian marksman.
Cole is widely considered as one of the best forwards of his generation. Between 1995 and 2002, he racked up 121 goals and 44 assists in 275 appearances for Manchester United across all competitions.
With 187 Premier League goals overall, he is the fifth-highest goalscorer in the league's history. He was inducted into the EPL Hall of Fame in April 2024.
If he maintains his current goalscoring pace, Haaland is on track to demolish all the records in England. Aged just 25, he has already racked up 99 goals (and 18 assists) in just 108 EPL appearances for Manchester City.
Despite playing just 35 games in his debut EPL season, the Norwegian racked up 36 goals, smashing the record set by Cole (34 goals) for Newcastle United in a 40-game 1993-94 campaign. In a recent interview with Sky Sports, the 54-year-old heaped praise on the young sharpshooter, saying:
"I think as a finisher, in that area, I don't think I have seen anyone better, doing what he does, at pure finishing."When asked if the 25-year-old is the best Premier League striker of all time, the Manchester United icon added:
"I'm not sure but at goalscoring and what he does, he's got to be up there. But, when you talk about the best Premier League striker, others haven't played the way he's played, who have scored goals... He's up there, but I'm not going to say he's the best striker that the Premier League has seen, I can't say that because I have got so much respect for the guys that have scored goals in a different era."🗣️ "I don't think I've seen anyone better at doing what he does" Andy Cole heaps praise on Erling Haaland 🙌
Haaland has enjoyed a blazing start to the 2025-26 campaign. He has racked up 22 goals and two assists in 19 appearances for Manchester City across all competitions.
"Of course" - Manchester United legend expresses desire to coach Erling Haaland once again
Manchester United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has claimed that he would love the opportunity to coach superstar attacker Erling Haaland again.
Solskjaer was in charge at Molde when they signed a 17-year-old Haaland from his boyhood side Bryne FK. The young forward flourished in Sweden before moving to Austria (RB Salzburg), Germany (Borussia Dortmund) and, eventually, England (Manchester City).
The 25-year-old has been monumental for the Norwegian national team during the World Cup qualifiers. He has racked up a whopping 14 goals in just seven games, leading his nation to a perfect record and an almost-guaranteed spot at next year's headline event.
While Norway manager Stale Solbakken has likely secured his managerial spot for the foreseeable future, Solskjaer has claimed that he is open to the idea of taking over. Speaking on the Stick To Football podcast, the 52-year-old, who has also managed Manchester United, Besiktas and Cardiff City in the past, said (via Yahoo Sports):
"We've got a good coach still; we're on the way to the World Cup. But if he [Solbakken] one day doesn't sign a new deal? Of course, who wouldn’t want to work with Erling Haaland again?"Up next, Haaland will be seen in action in Norway's final World Cup qualifying fixture against Italy on Sunday (November 16).
