Coco Gauff continued her encouraging run on clay as she progressed to the quarterfinals of the Italian Open.

A finalist at the recent Madrid Open, Gauff cruised past Great Britain's Emma Raducanu 6-1, 6-2 in the Monday's Round of 16 clash. The American has set up a blockbuster clash with teenager Mirra Andreeva in the last eight.

The tournament in Rome is the last of the WTA 1000 events on clay before the French Open and the top players will be looking to build momentum for the major.

While World No 1 Aryna Sabalenka also reached the quarterfinals, defending champion Iga Swiatek was ousted in the second round. Swiatek has struggled to put together a winning run even on her favoruite surface. The five-time Grand Slam champion is yet to win a title in 2025.
