How to watch Saltillo vs. Warren Central in Mississippi high school softball playoff series

After waiting a day to begin its postseason softball series, Mississippi high schools Saltillo and Warren Central will get under way Friday.

The best-of-three Mississippi High School Activities Association Class 6A opening-round series starts Friday afternoon at Warren Central’s field in Vicksburg, Miss., which was pushed back a day due to inclement weather. Game 2 is now Saturday afternoon in Saltillo, while an if-necessary Game 3 takes place Monday back at Warren Central.

Warren Central enters the postseason 9-11 overall, but was 6-2 in 6A Region 2, good enough for second place. The Vikings had won six straight games at one point but ended the regular season with back-to-back defeats.

KeKe McKay, a sophomore, comes in batting .440 with a slugging percentage of .600. Senior Whitley Parks batted .368 with an on-base percentage of .520 while fellow senior Kennadi Williams has driven in 14 runs.

Saltillo enters the postseason at 8-11-1 overall and finished third in 6A Region 1 with a 6-4 record. The Tigers dropped three straight to close out the regular season.

Chloe Skelton batted .528 in the regular season with an on-base percentage of .653. She has also hit four home runs and driven home 17 runs. Celia Dye batted .375 with an on-base average of .487.
