A midweek matinee between the Pirates and Brewers doesn't normally grab much attention, but plenty of eyes will be on Paul Skenes and Jacob Misiorowski as they face off Wednesday in Milwaukee.
The electric 23-year-olds both carry sub-2.00 ERAs into the game and figure to light up the radar gun early and often. Misiorowski's four-seam fastballs average 99.7 mph, while Skenes checks in at 98.1 mph.
It's only the third major league start for Misiorowski, but he has allowed only one hit in 11 innings so far. Skenes is more established in the majors but has become known for his bad luck in terms of decisions, entering the game with a 4-6 record despite an MLB-best 1.85 ERA.
