Following seven consecutive losing seasons, Liberty (Brentwood) is 20-4 for the second season in a row and all the way up to the top seed in the CIF-NCS' top division.

After enjoying a bye week in round one, it jumps back into action in the quarterfinals against one of the stronger teams it will face this season. No. 8 San Marin (19-6) is fresh off a 4-3 win over formidable Vintage in the first round, in which sophomore pitcher Taylor Testa held the opposition to three runs, zero earned runs, and six hits in seven innings.

It's been a standout year for both programs, and it should be a great game as both fight to stay alive with Liberty entering as the light favorite.
