How to get loot from Gacha Claus in ARK Survival Ascended

Gacha Claus returns, but this time in ARK Survival Ascended. It’s an event creature that can grant you random loot in exchange for some resources, hence the name Gacha. While the functionality remains the same as a regular Gacha, this one only spawns during the event period and can reward you with holiday-themed loot.

This guide will show you everything you need to know about getting loot from Gacha Claus in ARK Survival Ascended. Note that you cannot tame an event creature.

How to find Gacha Claus in ARK Survival Ascended

The first thing you need to do is find a Gacha Claus. Unlike its regular variant, it can spawn anywhere on every server that has the Winter Wonderland event active. They look the same but roam around wearing Santa Claus hats.

Once you find a Gacha Claus, you’ll want to restrict its movement so that you can feed resources and gain some loot. To do so, build walls or barricades around it so it can’t roam to a different part. Apart from feeding, there’s another reason to contain the creature. If a Gacha Claus is around aggressive creatures, it will take the aggro. In that case, you’ll want to deal with them first and then contain your walking loot machine.

A Gacha mechanic works something like this: you spend a resource and get a reward in return. For Gacha Claus in ARK Survival Ascended, the resources are Coal and Mistletoe. Feeding one of those will have the creature grow and drop a crystal on its back. Drop the resource near the Gacha Claus, and it will pick it up and eat. However, there are a few things to keep in mind.

To get a crystal in exchange for a Coal or Mistletoe, you need the Gacha Claus to have three blue crystals on its back. If there is one or two, you’ll need to feed the creature until there are three. After that, each resource you drop will overgrow one of the crystals. The Mistletoe is usually more effective if you want regular loot, but the rarity is always random and isn't affected by what you feed.
