Clair Obscur Expedition 33: How to defeat Osquio

You can reach the boss's location by accessing a train from Verso's Draft that takes you in front of a portal. Once you step off, head straight into the portal and from there, make your way up the stairs at the end of the room. This will eventually take you to the Root of All Evil and directly to the boss encounter. Here are the recommended builds and characters for this fight:

How to beat Osquio in Clair Obscur Expedition 33

Initial Phase

Osquio is a two-phase boss in Clair Obscure Expedition 33; therefore, you need to beat it twice. The initial phase is not that tough, where you can use Maelle to trigger the Last Chance and then the Stendhal attack. Last Chance will reduce self-health to 1, but refills all AP, and with the Stendhal attack, the boss will lose much of its HP. Since Maelle gets two turns, she can easily regenerate her health.

She won’t be taking hits, so her health will regenerate back to full. Meanwhile, Sciel is just there to play a support role and provide healing. You can transfer the attack to Maelle and Verso and continue the cycle to deal massive damage and successfully defeat the boss. With Verso, use the Powerful to give a buff to the other allies, increasing the damage dealt for 3 runs.

After that, use Marking Shot to apply a mark that increases the damage dealt to the boss. Follow this up with Veto’s Perfect Break to deal light damage to Osquio. From this point onward, stick to the same approach. Apply Verso’s mark, transfer the turn using Sciel, and let Maelle handle the attacks. Sciel doesn’t need much involvement unless healing is required, making her more of a safety (Backup) option.

Second Phase

The second phase is slightly more challenging due to the Barbapapa status effect and some of the boss's lethal attacks. If you get hit by any of his attacks, this effect reduces the damage of all your skills and attacks to just one, making it much harder to deal meaningful damage.

Fortunately, you can remove this Status Effect simply by attacking the boss using a skill. Well, in this case, use Verso's Burden to remove all Status Effects from all allies. Afterward, follow the same strategy:

  • Use Sciel to give the turn to Maelle
  • Use Maelle's Last Chance attack to get Verso debuff.
  • Use the Stendhal Skill to defeat Osquio quickly.

During this phase, the boss uses various attacks, including Drop Kick and Pew Pew Pew. Your best bet here is to parry effectively to deflect these hits. Overall, you must properly utilize all the Skills and Parry to defeat Osquio in the DLC.
