The College Football Playoffs is also a run for the roses. This season, the Rose Bowl is part of the playoff quarterfinals.

The game in Pasadena is always a classic, and this year will be one for the history books. Indiana, No. 1 in the playoffs, will try to continue its magical season at the Rose Bowl, where it will face either Oklahoma or Alabama.

Last year, Ohio State beat No. 1 Oregon in the quarterfinals. The year before, overtime sent Michigan to the championship over Alabama. Who will be covered in roses this time around?

That's what makes it the most iconic bowl game of the season, playoffs or not. On January 1, the thorny battle will come to life for a shot at victory or the end of a journey.
