The 2026 World Baseball Classic is now fully underway, and so far, all the Boston Red Sox players are dominating.

With representatives for seven different countries, all of them have been key players for their teams. The Sox playing in the WBC include Roman Anthony, Wilyer Abreu, Brayan Bello, Jarren Duran, Nate Eaton, Ceddanne Rafaela, Garrett Whitlock, and Masataka Yoshida.

The most notable three would be Anthony, Duran, and Yoshida, who are representing the USA, Mexico, and Japan respectively. Anthony and Duran dueled yesterday, with Duran having two homers for two of Mexico’s three runs, and Anthony slamming a second-deck dinger for three runs to put the USA over Mexico, 5-3. As for Yoshida, he’s just been dominant, hitting .500 with two homers and six RBI in four games.

Eaton had Great Britain’s only run against the USA, with a leadoff bomb against Tarik Skubal in their 9-1 loss. Rafaela and Abreu have been lockdown defenders for the Netherlands and Venezuela respectively, and Sox’ pitchers haven’t been slouching either.

Boston’s two pitching representatives, Bello and Whitlock, put on clinics in their two appearances. Bello struck out seven and allowed one run in a win for the Dominican Republic against Israel, and Whitlock got the save for the USA against Mexico last night.

Overall, the Sox’ future is looking awfully bright, and their 2026 season might be one for the history books.
