Scott Hoying Reveals How He'll React if Daughter Doesn't Want to Be a Singer

Mary, did you know that Scott Hoying and Mark Hoying are ready to welcome their baby?

The couple shared how they are nesting at home as they prepare for their baby girl’s arrival via surrogate later this month.

“Everything is ready,” Scott told E! News in an exclusive interview at the 2026 Tony Awards alongside Mark, who added, “We have some personal touches in the nursery that we’re excited to share that are very special to us.”

And as the due date inches closer, the Pentatonix singer and Mark—who tied the knot in 2026—emphasized they are “so excited.”

“We’ve wanted to be dads our whole life,” Scott continued, expressing hope their daughter will follow in his musical theatre footsteps. “I can’t wait to teach her Fosse and choreography and see what she does.”

Meanwhile, Mark was excited that their daughter will later get to reflect on their red carpet moment at the Tonys, where they were nominated for Best Musical as producers of Titanique.

“How special is it that she gets to see her dads at the Tonys one day?” Mark posited, to which Scott mused, “That’s really, really special. That’s so cool.”

But Scott, 34, and Mark, 35, aren’t going to force their little one to follow in their footsteps.

“Watch her just be fully into sports and not like theater at all,” Scott quipped. “We would love her just the same. She has to love Ariana Grande, though.”

But no matter their daughter’s future interests, Scott and Mark were floored to share their journey to fatherhood through their special announcement on Dancing With the Stars last season.

“When we were growing up, we didn’t see a lot of queer couples in media,” Scott reasoned. “I was just really hoping the show would let me do that. They were so amazing. We got to announce our journey and hopefully inspire queer kids out there.”

The Tonys acted as one of Scott and Mark’s final date nights before becoming parents, but they weren’t the only stars to turn heads on the red carpet. Keep reading to see all the celebrity arrivals...
