How old is Amber Glenn? Meet USA's oldest Olympic female figure skater since 1928

1 hour ago 2

Unlike some other Winter Olympic events, figure skating tends to be a sport dominated by younger athletes.

It's fairly common to see teenagers out on the ice for figure skating events, largely due to the fact that it's easier to maneuver on the ice with a lighter, more flexible body. A 19-year-old will certainly find it easier to find figure skating success than a 30 year-old.

However, even being on the earlier side of 30, the United States' Amber Glenn is making some history as one of the oldest skaters in the history of the country's competition in the Winter Olympics.

Here's how Glenn's age compares to the oldest USA figure skaters.

Oldest USA figure skaters in history

At 26 years old for the 2026 Winter Olympics, Glenn has already made history as the oldest U.S. women’s singles skater to compete at the Olympics in 98 years. She surpassed another recent U.S. star, Mariah Bell, who competed in the 2022 Bejing Olympics at age 25 as one of the oldest representatives of the country in women's figure skating in nearly a century.

While there have been a few older competitors for the U.S. over many years, they have often been in different events, not singles.
