Paige Bueckers has officially arrived in the WNBA.
The reigning national champion and No. 1 overall pick in April's draft made her Dallas debut on Friday night against the Minnesota Lynx, but the final result didn't go exactly as she would've liked, as last year's runner-up handled the Wings 99-84.
Dallas hopes Bueckers can be a building block with backcourt partner Arike Ogunbowale, and Friday was just the beginning of a promising future. One of the most heralded prospects in WNBA history showed why she could become one of the faces of the league in short order despite an uneven outing.

Bueckers certainly didn't shoot as well as she would've liked, but that's not unheard of in pro debuts, even for top prospects. Her seven rebounds led the team, which is remarkable for a guard, and she only turned it over twice despite being tasked with primary ball-handling duties.
