On Tuesday, December 16, SM Entertainment announced the upcoming solo tour of NCT's Taeyong, TY TRACK - REMASTERED, following his recent return from his mandatory military service. The very next day after his return, fans and netizens were thrilled to receive an update regarding his new solo tour, which people have been looking forward to for almost two years. Here is the complete list of dates and venues of his solo tour, as announced so far:

  • January 24 - Seoul, South Korea
  • January 25 - Seoul, South Korea
  • February 7 - Jakarta, Indonesia
  • February 16 - Yokohama, Japan
  • February 17 - Yokohama, Japan
  • February 28 - Macau, China
  • March 1 - Macau, China
  • March 28 - Bangkok, Thailand
  • March 29 - Bangkok, Thailand
  • April 11 - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

However, when the announcement landed on the internet, many were displeased and disappointed by the small scale of the tour. Several people pointed out that the tour only holds six stops across Asia, and most venues for the concerts were of small capacities. Fans criticized SM Entertainment for underestimating the popularity and expressed that he deserved a full-scale world tour with more stops and larger venues.

Netizens also expressed the alleged disrespect of NCT's Taeyong by his agency, SM Entertainment, for failing to provide the idol with full-scale promotions for his solo career, despite his position as a global artist with a large worldwide fanbase. Therefore, many demanded that SM Entertainment add more dates to his solo tour while also urging them to book larger venues going forward.

Here are a few fan reactions regarding the same:

"Taeyong can easily filled up 15,000 capacity venue in Jakarta. Why was he given a smaller venue for his solo concert? Also, with his massive global fanbase, why was he only given six countries in Asia? How long will you underestimate him @SMTOWNGLOBAL?!" said a fan

More fans and netizens also expressed their reactions to NCT's Taeyong's solo tour announcement from SM Entertainment.

pls add more cities @SMTOWNGLOBAL @NCTsmtown global fans have waited for 2 years but we only get this? f*ck you!!!

at least they have the self awareness to not even call it a tour

It hurts because we know what Taeyong is capable of. He can break records, fill arenas, and reach fans everywhere —yet so many “Asian”cities are Missing. It really feels unfair to him and the fans who waited. 😭 #TAEYONG #태용 #テヨン @SMTOWNGLOBAL @NCTsmtown

This is like a warm up tour before the real tour right? Because what the f*ck is this sh*t @SMTOWNGLOBAL ? Barely any places and Barely any dates. You CLEARLY can do better for other people so there has to be a logical reason for this right? Because the demand is there sooo?

Others also shared their thoughts and opinions regarding the same.

This is really it? Taeyong is a GLOBAL artist with GLOBAL demand. His fans waited 20 months — across continents. He deserves a WORLD TOUR, not boundaries. Do right by him. @SMTOWNGLOBAL @NCTsmtown

girl where are the rest of the dates ????

A GLOBAL STAR deserves more. His art reaches every corner of the world, his fans waited 20 months, and his impact goes far beyond borders. He deserves a WORLD TOUR — not limits, not half-measures. Give him the stage he earned. 😭 #TAEYONG #태용 #テヨン @SMTOWNGLOBAL @NCTsmtown

This is a joke but I wasn't expecting anything better from this sh*t company!!

NCT's Taeyong holds livestream following his return from military

On December 15, NCT's leader, rapper, and singer, Taeyong, was discharged from his mandatory military service. Soon after the same, the idol held a livestream to reunite and update fans about his return. During the livestream, the idol engaged in several activities such as sharing his military stories, trying dance covers of his bandmates' solo songs, and more.

As he rolled out the livestream, the idol was also warmly welcomed by NCT's Johnny, with a cake that read "Welcome Back, Captain Rose". He also danced to Haechan's solo track, CRAZY, and also called some of his fellow members, such as Ten, Yuta, and more. The idol also informed fans about the new music he prepared during his time in the military. Here's what he stated:

"I wrote songs for you. I made a song called "Mermaid". I wrote many songs I wanna do on stage. In the military, I was very lonely and felt a bit empty. There are songs that talk of those times. So I'll share them with you when they're ready; it might not take long"

Therefore, many fans and netizens are eagerly looking forward to the upcoming releases and content from the idol following his discharge from the military.
