How long was the Super Bowl national anthem in 2026? How Charlie Puth hit betting under

12 hours ago 4

Everything at the Super Bowl is under a microscope, and that doesn't just include the game itself.

From the pregame festivities, to the commercial, to the halftime show, the spotlight fixates on each performer, each broadcaster and each advertiser. In many cases, fans can get in on the action.

National anthem performer Charlie Puth was just focused on living up to the moment as he performed at Levi's Stadium, but bettors were attentive to the length of his performance and whether it came in over or under pregame estimates.

Here's a look at the length of Puth's national anthem performance before Super Bowl 60.

How long was the Super Bowl national anthem in 2026?

Puth's performance of the national anthem at Super Bowl 60 unofficially lasted about 1:50 from the first word to the end of the final note, coming in more than nine seconds under the 119.5-second estimate set by most sportsbooks.

Puth explained before Super Bowl 60 that he had prepared for the big stage for months. "I always reverse engineer how I hear my own music in my head and then it’s kind of just like pulling it apart and making it a feasible product," he said in a press conference. "So I’ve been rehearsing this in my head for months, if that makes sense."

In January, Puth told Rolling Stone that he finds inspiration in Whitney Houston's iconic Super Bowl anthem from 35 years ago. "I’m going to be inspired by what Whitney did, but I can’t ever touch what Whitney did," he said.

What was the Super Bowl national anthem over/under?

Odds courtesy of FanDuel.

  • Over 119.5 seconds: -110
  • Under 119.5 seconds: -110

After Jon Batiste came in just shy of the more than two-minute estimation at Super Bowl 59, the over/under for Puth's performance settled at just under two minutes.

While the odds vary by sportsbook, with some books offering as little as 117.5 seconds for over/under bets, FanDuel settled at 119.5 seconds for the over/under. That is just a half-second short of exactly two minutes.

Some viewers are walking away from Super Bowl 60 satisfied before the game even kicks off, while others came away disappointed from Puth's performance at Levi's Stadium.
