The only prerequisite for Etherealization is to have more than one copy of any given unit. This is most often fulfilled while summoning, as you are bound to receive numerous copies of common characters. Once you have one or more duplicates of a tower, open the inventory and scroll down to the desired character.

Use the Left Mouse Button on the unit and select the Etherealize option from the drop-down menu. This will have the menu transition into another sub-menu, where you can pick the copies you wish to feed into the main one. After that, hit the Confirm button to commence the Etherealization process, triggering a cutscene.

To avoid Etherealizing the duplicate by consuming the main unit by accident, we recommend locking the main unit.

The purpose of the Etherealization system is to strengthen the innate qualities of the chosen unit through stat bonuses and passive unlocks. Every odd-level Etherealization (first, third, and so on) grants stat points, which can be invested in the Unit Inventory menu.

You can check the tower’s specialization by clicking on its profile in the unit inventory and taking a peek at the panel on the right. The game assigns a letter grade to each stat to indicate the intended use of the unit. Since stat point distribution is up to you, you can choose to invest in the unit’s qualities or try to remedy its shortcomings.

With every even-level Etherealization (second, fourth, and so on), the unit gains passive boosts. These abilities are largely unique to each unit, so be sure to check them out in the inventory menu.
