There are many superfans throughout college football, and the sport has tried to celebrate its most loyal followers in recent years. This weekend, Colorado got the chance to honor its own superfan, as Peggy Coppom — better known as Miss Peggy — turned 100 years old Saturday.

Colorado fans sang "Happy Birthday" to Miss Peggy during the No. 16 Buffaloes' 49-24 home victory against Utah, which turned out to be a special moment for everyone involved.

Miss Peggy and her twin sister, Betty, were Colorado fans for pretty much their entire lives, attending games since the 1940s, as both sisters and their husbands bought season tickets in the 1950s and 60s. Betty passed away in 2020 after attending more than 400 games, but Peggy lived to see her 100th birthday and Colorado's resurgence under head coach Deion Sanders.

This week, Sanders allowed Miss Peggy the opportunity to explain what this weekend was like.

Colorado's Miss Peggy press conference

On Tuesday, Sanders brought Miss Peggy to his press conference, and the Colorado superfan got the opportunity to explain what the special moment Saturday meant to her.

"I haven't even comprehended it yet," she said, "I cried, I just thank god for my life and for all the friends and for everything that's happened to me.

"I just wish my twin sister were here, it all started because we were twins. I can't deny that we've been loyal fans, but I did get all of this attention just for just having a good time, [it's] unbelievable."
