The Houston Texans will relocate their practice facility and team headquarters from the area around NRG Stadium to a newly planned suburban complex in northwest Harris County. This 83-acre development, located in the growing Bridgeland community of Cypress, will feature modern sports and entertainment amenities, as confirmed by team and county officials.
Texans organization is set to move its headquarters and practice facility away from NRG Stadium.
Texans owner Cal McNair and Harris County commissioners unveiled plans this week for a public-private partnership that will establish the Toro District.
Located roughly 35 miles from Downtown Houston, Bridgeland’s rapid growth makes it an ideal location for the project. For the Texans, this marks a major transition, moving away from their long-standing practice of operating next to their game-day stadium.
"Our organization continues to grow, and this aligns with our goals of bringing a championship to Houston, enhancing community services and making sports more accessible," McNair said. "This project reinforces our long-term commitment to Harris County and our focus on driving growth and opportunity for the community."
Approximately 22 acres of the site will be dedicated to the Texans franchise, featuring a new global headquarters with business offices, indoor and outdoor practice fields, and expanded football operations space. The plans for the remaining land are not yet finalized, but the vision includes retail, restaurants, hotels, entertainment venues, and medical offices—mirroring aspects of the Star complex developed by the Dallas Cowboys in Frisco.
The Texans will continue to play home games at NRG Stadium, where their lease runs through 2032, and plan ongoing upgrades to the venue even as they move their football and business operations off-site.
