A housekeeper was tied up at gunpoint during a “horrendous” home invasion at a $20 million seaside mansion in Massachusetts, according to police and the homeowner.

An armed suspect broke into the 27,000 square-foot seaside home in the Boston suburb of Beverly just before 9 a.m. Saturday morning and attacked the maid before making off with “valuable” items and stealing a Porsche, homeowner Thomas Swan III told WCVB.

“What they did to my housekeeper was just horrendous,” said Swan, a business lawyer and investment banker.

“She was held at gunpoint, sometimes dragged by her hair, ultimately tied up and left in the garage. She’s really, really special, but truly traumatized by this, truly traumatized,” he added.

The housekeeper, who was not identified, was able to break free and run to a neighbor’s house for help after the robber fled the scene in a vehicle stolen from the mansion, according to the Beverly Police Department.

The housekeeper was hospitalized briefly with minor injuries and has since been released.

The stolen Porsche was later recovered in Lynn, about 12 miles away, according to police.

Swan refused to reveal exactly what was stolen, but said the thieves were familiar with his property and knew what was inside.

“They knew what they were after; they were looking for what they stole were some very specific and valuable things,” Swan said.

“It was probably someone familiar with the house,” he told the Boston Globe.

The robbery remains under investigation by the Beverly Police Department with the help of Massachusetts State Police.

“I’m confident we’ll see justice, but we’re all very shaken up,” Swan said.
