Horrifying moment Arizona man bursts into flames immediately after cop tasered him

An Arizona man burst into flames when a cop tasered him next to a gas pump that caught fire, horrifying footage shows.

Clarence Coyl suffered burns across his hands after igniting when the federal wildlife officer deployed the stun gun at Thalypo gas station on July 16.

The lawman had followed him to the store after catching him allegedly driving with a friend through an open gate at Havasu National Wildlife Refuge 20 minutes earlier.

Coyl told Fox 10 Phoenix: “He goes, ‘You guys came through the gate, didn’t you? Leave now. Get out of here.’

“I’m like, ‘OK’ and he got really snotty, and he says, ‘Well, I’ll give you a ticket,’ and I say, ‘Give me a ticket, you gotta trespass me first.”

He then drove to a nearby Thalypo gas station where the U.S. Fish and Wildlife officer confronted him.

The flames begin with the officer — sporting a shaved head and black sunglasses — pointing his taser at the man.

“You’re gonna go to jail, all I’m asking for is your license right now to identify you …” the officer shouts.

“What am I being arrested for?” Coyl said.

“You are not cooperating for having committed a crime …” the officer says back.

“What? A misdemeanor? A misdemeanor a–hole. It’s a $10 …” he says, before the crack of the officer’s stun gun deploying cuts him off.

The phone drops to the ground as the viewer sees flames erupt and the man’s screams are heard. “All I asked you was why I’m being arrested, and you wouldn’t explain it to me,” Coyl is heard saying.

The man said he believed he would die and rolled to put the flames out. “I thought I was gonna die. Believe it or not, I went into instinct to stop, drop and roll,” he said.

He then waited for paramedics and was rushed to the hospital. Coyl said he suffered first and second-degree burns on his hands and severe nerve damage, but police never followed up on his alleged crime.

“And I spend five and a half hours there, not a single officer or anything followed up to write a report, question me or nothing … nobody showed up at the hospital at all for any of this,” Coyl said.

The officer’s exact identity is unclear, but the name on his uniform says “P. Nielsen.”

The USFWS is conducting an investigation into the taser deployment, which could have been improper according to a policy forbidding such a use near explosive or flammable materials like those at the gas station.

“A taser was deployed during this incident. Consistent with DOI policy, all such deployments undergo review, and we are unable to comment further while that process is ongoing,” a spokesman said.

Coyl said he’s been unable to recover mentally from the horrifying incident yet and still has nightmares.

“I start shaking really bad, and I start having flashbacks, and I’ve been having really bad nightmares over this,” he said.
