Horrific video shows wild brawl that ended with innocent cop’s son, 12, fatally shot

Shocking video shows the moment an argument outside a New York City bodega quickly escalated into a brawl — ending with gunshots that killed an innocent 12-year-old cop’s son and wounded two others.

Security video obtained by The Post shows the start of the confrontation between two men on a crosswalk outside the Wanda Deli Grocery on Elliott Place near the Grand Concourse in the Bronx at around 4:50 p.m. Saturday.

Suddenly, several men begin scuffling in the street, as if trying to wrestle a gun off someone.

At this point, Jacob Freytes — the 12-year-old son of an NYPD cop, according to sources — is seen innocently coming out of the bodega, where he bought a ball, and getting on his bike, unaware of the violence about to unfold.

He turns to look at the fight just as a man in a white T-shirt steps toward the fight and appears to pull a gun out of his waistband.

In the video, which has no audio, Jacob suddenly jumps off his bike and runs into the bodega clutching his upper right chest near his shoulder.

The man in the white tee, who had pointed his gun into the melee but didn’t appear to aim it at Jacob, runs off down the street.

Other graphic video from the store’s interior surveillance camera shows Jacob rushing back in the store, clutching his wound — then collapsing on the floor as witnesses look on in horror.

Jacob was rushed to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln with a gunshot wound through his shoulder, and was pronounced dead Saturday evening.

“His mom told me he was on the bike,” his devastated uncle, Julio Lopez, told The Post after returning from the hospital.

“The bullet went straight into his chest. He fell off the bike,” he added.

Jacob, who lived just around the corner from the shooting on Marcy Place, is the son of a detective, who returned from Connecticut when he heard the shocking news about his son, Lopez said.

Two other victims—a 34-year-old male and a 25-year-old male—were transported by private means to BronxCare Health System Hospital with gunshot wounds to the left foot and buttocks, respectively.

Their conditions were listed as stable.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.

It wasn’t immediately clear how many shots were fired.
