Jaxson Dart received another concerning update after the New York Giants' Week 15 loss to the Washington Commanders. According to reports, he was checked for a concussion once again after the game, raising questions about his longevity in the league.
On Tuesday's episode of ESPN's "First Take," Stephen A. Smith did not mince his words while criticizing Jaxson Dart's carelessness with his health. He called the rookie quarterback out for putting his career in jeopardy with his questionable on-field decisions.
"I think that, you know, I like his talent," Smith said. "I like his moxy, I like his courage. I think that he is the future for the New York Giants, as long as he is willing to be smart about it. And makes sense. You're in a man's game now.•

"So, I just look at it. I think his attitude is all wrong. He's not understanding the importance of suriving and living to play another play and another day. And I think that's the problem that I have with it."During the 29-21 loss to the Commanders, Jaxson Dart completed 20 of 36 passes for 246 yards and two touchdowns and one interception. This was the fifth time this season that he's been checked for a concussion.
Dart took over as the QB1 after a disappointing 0-3 start under veteran Russell Wilson. In 11 games, he has tallied 1,802 yards and 13 TDs passing while rushing for 400 yards and seven TDs.
Giants insider shares his honest thoughts on Jaxson Dart's future with the franchise
Giants insider Evan Roberts highlighted how the team might have the No.1 overall pick in next year's draft.
He said that they might decide to acquire another quarterback with this potential pick, resulting in competition for Dart.
"The Giants may pick number one," Roverts said on "WFAN Sports Radion." It is absolutely on the table that they're gonna have the number one overall pick and you have an opinion about Jaxson Dart versus drafting a quarterback. "But I would want the most independent eyes to make a decision that big, and I don't believe someone who's been here for a few years, including the person who drafted Dart, can make that fair decision."The Giants are currently 2-12 with an eight-game losing streak. They fired Brian Daboll in November, with Mike Kafka taking over as the interim coach.
Apart from their on-field struggles, it will be interesting to see who the team brings in as Daboll's replacement next year.
