Hilary Swank Shares Rare Glimpse of Her Twins During Family Vacation
P.S. Hilary Swank loves that she became a mom when she did.
Days after the P.S. I Love You actress and husband Philip Schneider celebrated their twins Ohm and Aya 3rd birthdays, the 51-year-old shared what she’s gained from becoming a mom later in life.
“I personally was happy that I had them later in life,” Hilary, who welcomed her kids at age 48, exclusively told E! News at the Environmental Working Group’s annual Earth Day dinner April 22, “because now I can give them my full attention in a way that I wouldn’t have been able to earlier in life.”
Though she joked some call her “geriatric” she shrugged it off, adding, “It all depends on what you think about yourself.”
She also feels much wiser when it comes to caring for her kids, especially with the help of EWG’s recommendations.
“I don’t make a move without them,” the Oscar winner said of the nonprofit, “in a world where it’s really profit over people we have to have someone that we believe to show us the way and be a guiding light and that’s the EWG for me.”
“I’ve always been really diligent about what I put in my body or on my body,” Hilary explained, “but having babies makes you think. They’re just so vulnerable and more susceptible to toxins and it’s my responsibility as a parent to ensure that I’m doing the best that I can for them.”
One nonnegotiable in the their household? “Being as plastic free as you can,” Hilary told E!. “We don’t drink out of plastic, we don’t use plastic. You can’t avoid plastic, but wherever possible.”
