Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Baldwin’s Daughter Carmen Pokes Fun at Her Parents’ 26-Year Age Gap
Hilaria Baldwin and Alec Baldwin’s relationship isn’t all that complicated.
In fact, the wellness guru revealed the simple secrets to her and the It’s Complicated star’s successful marriage, including how the couple finds humor in their 26-year age difference.
“Take a 27-year-old yoga instructor married to a rich and famous older man—it sounds ridiculous,” Hilaria told the Daily Mail in an interview published May 29. “It sounds like a bad SNL sketch.”
“It worked out luckily, but we poke fun at each other in our family all the time,” she added. “I think people expect that Alec wanted somebody he could boss around, and we’re on the same level together.”
As for Alec, he knew when the pair first connected that he’d met a “very special person.”
“When I met her, she was unknown; she wasn’t a famous person,” the Beetlejuice actor explained. “She was a hard worker and I really admired that. She’s beautiful beyond measure, inside and out.”
But when it comes to their differences, Hilaria, 42, and Alec, 68, have found ways to keep the peace.
“We just let each other be,” the yoga teacher explained, “and I think that’s one of the reasons our relationship has gone on as long as it has, because we are polar opposites and so different.”
As for how they keep the spark alive?

“We’ve been traveling a lot for work recently but we try to have a lot of date nights,” Hilaria said, which she noted “usually involves dinner.”
“He loves a good dinner,” she added. “We either go out or I cook and we usually end up chatting and catching each other up on our seven kids and our projects.”
But since tying the knot in 2012, Hilaria and Alec—who share kids Carmen, 12, Rafael, 10, Leonardo, 9, Romeo, 8, Eduardo, 5, Maria Lucia, 5, and Ilaria, 3, together—have faced their fair share of challenges.
“There’s been so much chaos in our lives,” Hilaria explained, “so much of it wonderful, some horrible things but we’ve managed to figure it out.”

And Alec—who also shares daughter Ireland, 30, with ex-wife Kim Basinger—wouldn’t have it any other way.
“For me, I don’t want to leave my home anymore,” he told the outlet, despite confessing that he also loves “to go to work.”
As he put it, “I want to stay home and do nothing and be with the kids.”
