After winning the World Series in 2023, the Texas Rangers have failed to make the postseason over the last two years. However, this year, things are looking different.
The pitching staff is looking the part, getting great results from Jacob deGrom. Offensively, things could be better, but they have a run differential of +10, which is great.
So far, they have started with a 12-12 record, but they will be tested to end the month. They finish their series with the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday before taking on the Athletics and the New York Yankees before we get into May.

High strikeout rates and run differential have the Rangers looking dangerous
Wyatt Langford ended up on the 10-day IL. But the young slugger does not believe he will require a longer stay. He was diagnosed with a minor strain in his right forearm.
Even with a tough schedule to end the month, the injury news, and the .500 record, Bleacher Report's Zachary D. Rymer is high on this club.
"The Rangers are only a .500 team in the early goings. And yes, they do need to get Wyatt Langford going and get Jacob deGrom more support in the rotation, which has otherwise been shaky. The run differential is a solid +10, though, and even those concerns don't loom that large. Texas' offense is much more solid than it was in 2025. The rotation is fanning a league-high 10.3 batters per nine innings."
This could be the Rangers' best chance to make the postseason since they won it all before the Los Angeles Dodgers became a superteam.
Get deGrom a little more help, adding some depth to the rotation, and that could be all the club needs. It will be interesting to see what direction the team goes when we get closer to the trade deadline, if they can keep themselves in the thick of things.
