United States hockey had a historic Winter Olympics.

For the first time, the U.S. took gold medals in both men's and women's hockey in the same Olympic Games, and it has created plenty of national attention, including from the White House and President Donald Trump.

Both teams were invited to Tuesday night's State of the Union address. It appears 20 of the 25 men's players are attending, but the women's team declined the invitation.

Citing "previously scheduled academic and professional commitments," a USA Hockey spokesperson shared, "We are sincerely grateful for the invitation extended to our gold medal–winning U.S. Women’s Hockey Team and deeply appreciate the recognition of their extraordinary achievement...They were honored to be included and are grateful for the acknowledgment."

There has also been a lot of buzz about a phone call between the U.S. men's hockey team and President Trump after they won their gold medal.

On that call, the women's hockey team came up. Here's what the President said.

What did President Donald Trump say about U.S. women's hockey?

The President told the men's team that he'd have to invite the women's team or be impeached.

His exact quote, via ESPN, was, "I must tell you, we're going to have to bring the women's team, you do know that," and then adding if he didn't, "I do believe I probably would be impeached."

Earlier on Tuesday, U.S. defenseman Quinn Hughes was on Good Morning America and was asked about the women's team.

"You know, we're really happy for them," Quinn said. "Obviously, a lot going on on social media surrounding our team and their team. But, you know, the last couple (years) we've done a lot of training with them and got to know a lot of those girls really well."
